Independent software engineering · Lahore · serving UK · EU · US · AU

The constraint was never technology. It was headcount.

Twenty-three years of enterprise delivery, now AI-directed. Our engineers have shipped production systems in Python, Django, FastAPI, Laravel, Odoo, Shopify, SAP integration and Google Vertex AI — a range no firm this size covers by hiring. Our own products have been in production, with paying customers, for ten years.

The problem we solve

Your software partner recommends what they can staff.

Ask a WordPress shop and the answer is WordPress. Ask a Laravel team and the answer is Laravel. That is not dishonesty — it is arithmetic. An agency can only propose what it has already hired for, so the technology decision gets made by their payroll rather than by your problem.

VenSoc ran under exactly that constraint for fifteen years. It does not any more. The engineering judgement is the same judgement it has always been; what has changed is that it is no longer rationed by who happens to be on the bench this quarter.

  • Right tool, not the staffed tool

Django because the problem is data-shaped, Odoo because you already run Odoo, a Laravel service because it has to sit beside one. The choice is argued in a decision record, not defaulted.

  • Rigour goes up, not down

Tests written before implementation and proven to fail when the code is deliberately broken. Decisions recorded with the alternative and its cost. Done means a command was run and its output shown.

  • One accountable architect

No handover between a salesperson, a project manager and whoever was free. The person who scoped it is the person who architects it and answers for it in production.

Software we own

We do not only build software. We run it.

An agency that has only ever billed hours never has to live with its own decisions. VenSoc has operated a commercial ERP since 2016 — through currency changes, tax rule revisions, and a decade of operators finding edge cases nobody designed for.

All products
  • FreightW ERP

    In production

CRM, freight operations and accounts in one system.

FreightW is a freight forwarding ERP that VenSoc built, owns and operates as a hosted service. It covers CRM, freight operations and full double-entry accounts in a single system. FreightW was built in 2015, launched commercially in July 2016, and is used today by six freight forwarding and logistics companies.

    About FreightW ERP
  • Meal-Kits

    In development

A meal-kit delivery platform, ready to brand and launch.

Meal-Kits is a complete meal-kit delivery web application built and owned by VenSoc. It covers the cuisine catalogue, portion sizing from two to ten people, allergy and spice information, cooking times, beverage add-ons, cart, checkout and customer accounts. It is offered as a productised platform to brand and launch rather than a bespoke build, and is not yet running for a client.

Engineering capability

What twenty-three years actually leaves you able to build.

The full record
  • 01

    Application engineering

Production web applications in Python — FastAPI and Django — and in PHP with Laravel, with React and TypeScript front ends. Twenty-three years of it, across systems that had to keep running rather than demos that had to look right.

    • Python · FastAPI · Django
    • PHP · Laravel
    • React · TypeScript · Next.js
    • MySQL · PostgreSQL · SQLAlchemy
  • 02

    ERP and enterprise integration

Odoo implementation, custom module development and version migration. Integration with SAP over OData, including writes into a system of record where records are effectively permanent — which changes the engineering far more than the protocol does.

    • Odoo implementation, custom modules and version migration
    • SAP integration over OData
    • Master data validation and governed approval workflows
    • Middleware and contract verification against service metadata
  • 03

    Cloud and platform

Deployment and operation on Google Cloud — Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, VPC networking with static egress addressing where an enterprise endpoint only accepts known IPs — alongside Docker and reverse-proxied self-hosting.

    • Google Cloud Run · Cloud SQL
    • VPC connectors · Cloud NAT · static egress addressing
    • Docker · Nginx · self-hosted deployment
    • CI pipelines and automated quality gates
  • 04

    Applied AI

Systems that call large language models inside a business process rather than beside it: retrieval over documents, structured extraction, evaluation, and human approval gates in front of anything that changes a record.

    • Google Vertex AI · Gemini
    • Retrieval and document intelligence
    • Evaluation harnesses and human-in-the-loop approval
    • AI-directed delivery under verification discipline
  • 05

    Commerce

Shopify storefront development and continuing maintenance, and the ERP-side inventory and order synchronisation behind it — which is the half most commerce agencies subcontract.

    • Shopify · Liquid · storefront development
    • ERP ↔ commerce inventory and order synchronisation
    • Long-running maintenance engagements

How we work

AI-directed does not mean AI-decided.

VenSoc directs AI engineering agents inside a discipline built specifically to counteract where they are weakest: overconfidence, unverified claims of completion, and total memory loss between sessions. The discipline is the product.

  1. 01

    Discovery

    1–2 weeks

A written technical assessment: current-state architecture, the real constraints, and a costed plan. Yours to keep whether or not you continue.

  2. 02

    Architecture

    1–3 weeks

A decision record for every significant choice, stating the alternative and what it would have cost. Nothing gets re-litigated later because the reasoning is written down.

  3. 03

    Delivery

    Fortnightly increments

Working software in your environment every two weeks. Tests written before the code, and proven to fail when the code is deliberately broken — a test that cannot fail is not evidence.

  4. 04

    Operate

    Ongoing

Monitoring, an on-call owner, and a documented exit: your repositories, your infrastructure, your IP, transferable at any point without penalty.

  • You own the code and the IP from the first commit.
  • Four hours of daily overlap with UK and EU business hours as standard.
  • "Done" means a command was run and its output shown — never "this should work".
  • Exit provisions and knowledge transfer written into every contract.

What we do

Eleven services, five jobs, one team.

We removed everything an enterprise buyer would price us by. What remains is what we are actually good at.

Modernise the foundation

De-risk the systems you already depend on.

  • Legacy modernisation

Incremental replacement of systems that have become too expensive to change, without a big-bang cutover.

  • Data platform engineering

The pipelines, warehouse and governance layer that AI work depends on and most organisations discover they are missing.

Deploy intelligence

Move AI from pilot to production.

  • Applied AI & agentic systems

Retrieval systems, document intelligence, and agents that act inside your business processes — built to be evaluated, monitored and operated.

  • AI advisory & readiness

A structured assessment of where AI will pay for itself in your organisation, and what has to be true technically before it can.

Connect & scale operations

Make the systems that run the business talk to each other.

Design & build the front end

The front of the business: what people see and use.

  • UI/UX design & CMS websites

Interface design, clickable prototypes and content-managed sites on WordPress and Joomla that your own staff can update.

  • Mobile application development

iOS and Android apps with the backend built alongside them, maintained through years of store and OS changes.

  • Graphic design & video

Brand, marketing graphics and video, produced with generative tools under a designer’s direction and delivered with the software.

Be found

By the people searching, and by the AI engines they now ask.

  • SEO, GEO & demand engineering

Technical SEO and generative engine optimisation, measured with first-party crawler log data rather than vendor visibility scores.
